What is MCP?
The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI applications discover and use external tools and data in a consistent way.
How DataBased exposes data
Each connected spreadsheet becomes a set of typed resources, based on the data model DataBased detects.
Resources & tools
Read resources like customers or deals, and call tools such as search, get, update or add_record.
Authentication
Clients authenticate with scoped credentials. Read and write permissions are configured per dataset.
Example workflow
// illustrative — not the final API
client.listResources() → ["customers", "deals"]
client.callTool("search_customers", { last_contact_before: "30d" })
→ 12 records
client.callTool("update_customer", {
id: "acme", status: "Contacted", next_action: "Follow up · Tuesday"
}) → ok · 2 cells written
